katrina is a registered
dietitian who for over 30 years has specialized in the diet and
nutrition for older people as well as for people with mental
health problems or learning disabilities.
Diane has been a medical ward
sister with experience spanning over 30 years, during which time
she has developed a special interest in diabetes.
Since the year 2000 Diane and
Katrina have worked in partnership providing diabetes education
for a variety of Care Organisations
In 2006 the training programme
that Diane and Katrina designed, as part of a project team, won
the Arun Baksi Award for Team Innovation in Diabetes Care.
Their work was published in
Practical Diabetes International January 2007.
Katrina now runs her own
freelance dietetic business in Cumbria. Her work is varied and
ranges from individual consultations, talks, workshops and
training events. She works together with Diane providing diabetes
education and training for care organisations in Cumbria and is a
Consultant Dietitian for an Independent group of nursing homes.

Diane has been employed as a
Nurse Educator with the diabetes team at the Cumberland Infirmary
Carlisle since the year 2000. During this time she has been
involved in many aspects of diabetes care and projects including
planning and implementing diabetes training in residential and
nursing homes in Cumbria.
