ABOUT
US
Katrina is a registered dietitian who for over 30 years has
specialized in the diet and nutrition for older people and for
people who have mental health problems and learning difficulties
Diane has over 30 years experience as a registered general nurse,
the majority of this time spent as a medical ward sister in the
NHS and has a special interest in diabetes.
Since 2000, Diane and Katrina have worked in partnership providing
diabetes education for a variety of care organisations.
In
2006 the training programme that Diane and Katrina designed as
part of a project team within the NHS, won the Arun Baksi Award
for Team Innovation in Diabetes Care. This work was published in
Practica Diabetes International in January 2007.
Other publications include;
Katrina runs her own freelance dietetic business in Cumbria. Her
work is varied and includes being a Consultant Dietitian to a group of
Nursing Homes in NW England where she provides guidance and
practical information on a range of nutritional needs including
diabetes and dementia.
Before becoming a freelance educator, Diane worked as part of a
team in a diabetes centre in a general district hospital in NW
England. Now together with Katrina they provide innovative
training using a practical approach designed for care
organisations and their staff.
